Pairing battery storage with a smart time-of-use tariff like Octopus Agile or Octopus Intelligent dramatically improves your battery's financial performance. Agile tariffs vary electricity prices every 30 minutes based on the wholesale market. During periods of high renewable generation (typically 2-5am), prices can drop to 1-3p/kWh — sometimes even negative (you get paid to use electricity).
