7kW or 22kW?
Almost every home in Yorkshire has a single-phase supply, which caps you at 7kW — around 25–30 miles of range per hour, a full charge overnight. 22kW needs a three-phase supply; the DNO upgrade often costs £3,000–£15,000+ and most EVs can't accept 22kW AC anyway. Unless you already have three-phase (some farms and commercial premises do), 7kW is the right answer.
The OZEV Grant: £350 Off — But Only for Flats and Rented Homes
The OZEV EV chargepoint grant pays a flat £350 towards installation, but eligibility has narrowed: it now applies to flat owners and renters only — houses are no longer eligible.
